I have a large network where SSID is the same on every AP, and CPEs are registered on AP with access-list.
The problem is that the new CPE (with hardware rb711), if hear two or more AP with similar signal, wants register to a specific AP and not where I have registered on AP with the access-list.
On the old hardware you can register the cpe on the worse AP, on the new CPE you are forced to register on the better signal AP.
But when the new CPEs hear similar signal of AP, you have a problem…

Uh? Configure connect list in /wireless in the CPEs.
There you can add, in order, your preferred MAC of the APs this CPE have to connect.
Access list is to enable access of one mac to the AP YOU ARE CONFIGURING. connect list is where you can connect.

I have adopt your solution long time ago, but I’m looking for if there is another solution for working with access list on AP and rb711, because with old hardware (rb411, rb532…) this problem is inexistent.

I think it must work same.. it’s same software… : /
on AP normally I use 4.17, on RB711 the 5.05 or newer
If it’s not working like usually or it’s not working right, please, contact with support@mikrotik.com. But they will tell you to update routers first.
