hey guys,
I bought a Rb711HnD, but it needs PoE. This however is all new to me.
I’m running a gigabit network with a rb450g router and hp gigabit managed switch.
What do i need to power the rb711? Is an RBGPOE enough? Or do i need something else?
I am basically afraid of blowing the ports on my other hardware.
This wood has a lot of tree’s, help me find them please

711-5HnD dont have gigabit ethernet. You need basic POE injector (not gigabit) http://routerboard.com/RBPOE
The store i’m buying from only carrys the rbgpoe. Is there Harm in using this ? They carry other brands but i’d prefer the mikrotik.

No problem using the gb poe adapter. We only use that and not the standard one as it has an integrated LED so the customer can see if the power adapter is broken.
You can power it with any 802.3af switch if you use one of these Panoptic adapters with it: http://www.panoptictechnology.com/network-smart-adapters-mikrotik/
