First I am going to admit my newbie status with MT. I only recently took and passed the MTCNA course, so I have a lot to learn.
I am deploying a number of PTP links with MT, but I am having a strange issue with the very first one. We have installed RB711UA-5HnDs with Radiowave 28dbi dual-pol parabolics. The distance is 7.9 miles. We were previously using ubnt RocketM5s with very poor performance. Our Chain 0 performance is great with Tx/Rx signal strength of -66/-62 dBm, but our Chain 1 is showing us Tx/Rx signal strength of -108/-64 dBm. We have literally replaced everything: the entire enclosure, connectors and 711-5hnd, the antenna, and all the cables with the same issue showing-up on Chain 1 Tx. The 711 is in a solid metal enclosure, so it should be protected, but the unit is installed on the side of a metal building, and I am wondering if that could be a factor. The SNR is 59dB and we are able to run nstreme nv2 and push about 40Mbps up and down.
I am convinced that we are missing something significant that is causing this problem, and would look for any suggestions.
