I've a strange problem here with RB750 unit in one of my offices.
Configuration is like this:
- 2 ISPs, connected to the first two ports of the router;
- d-link switch, connected to the 5th port of the router;
- 10 user's PC, connected to d-link switch.
There's also a dhcp-server and web-proxy service on this unit, and a openvpn-client is configured for purpose of getting access to HQ's resources.
These are the symptoms:
unit got self-rebooted (for the first time it was done by watchdog) and then - no pings from HQ's lan to internal interface, no pings from local net to internets. I can't even ping a host behind a router without pointing out local interface! And - there's no ping to router internal interface from a host in his local net either! Winbox isn't responding too. Only web and ssh access is available.
I've tried Router OS 5.23, 5.24, 5.19, 5.20, 5.12 - no change. Also tried fw 3.02 and 2.41 - no change.
All that immediately precede such behaviour in system log is like this (GW1 - wan interface to 1st ISP, 5-slave-local - 5th port of switch, local - local master port):
Buffer memory
Topics
interface
info
Message GW1 link up (speed 100M, full duplex)
Buffer memory
Topics
interface
info
Message 5-slave-local link up (speed 100M, full duplex)
Buffer memory
Topics
interface
info
Message local link up (speed 100M, full duplex)
And that's all. CPU load is at 4-10%, about 15Mb of memory is free. Unit connects to vpn-server, get routes, respond to pings from internets and begin to work correctly only after i type /system reboot in console.
