Hi,
I am trying to setup a mikrotik rb750g behind a adsl router , i dont want the mikrotik to dial out , what i am trying to do is view cctv camera’s offsite , the client is using all wireless in the office and thats why i cant use the mikrotik to dial out.
I have set it up like this - adsl router - mikrotik - all pc’s running wireless - have setup a dynadns and inserted the script , pc’s can browse fine but cant access the camera’s offsite.
Ok the pc’s can browse the net cause they are linking through the adsl router , i can acces the mikrotik with winbox through the network, i have a ***.changeip.net dns setup on the mikrotik but i just cant seem to access the mikrotik offsite , i can view the camera’s through the network.
Because the mikrotik router isnt dialing out it doesnt have the public ip address. You have 2 options:
Port forward from your current modem router
(my preference) go out and obtain a cheap adsl modem with a single port ethernet port. setup the new modem in bridge and set routeros to make the connection. set the current modem/router into just access point and attach to the mikrotik router. that will make things much more neat (network wise) and much easier to manage.
Thanks for the response , i have already mentioned to the client about a cheap adsl modem but he is not going for it , i will try the port forward on the existing modem.
