I run about 90 RB750’s in my network and I am in the process of upgrading to RouterOS 6.40.5. They are all configured to set up a pptp-tunnel with a router in the cloud. Behind this router a DHCP-server is running. The RB750 is configured with DHCP-relay to pass throug the ip-adresses to the devices in the local network on eth5. On most devices the upgrade went okay.
However today I had one device (RB750Gr2) that only worked partially after the upgrade. The device shows that 6.40.5 is running. uplink en pptp-tunnel from eht1 to the router in the cloud is running. DHCP-relay does not seem to work, the devices do not get an ip-address. I had to initiate a soft reset via the webgui of the RB750Gr2 2 times before the devices in the local network got there ip-address. The RB750 ran for about 30 minutes and then went down again, this time no pptp-tunnel. We disconnected the power 2 times and now it is running.
In the release notes I read that on other devices there were similar problems:
6.40.4: rb931-2nd - fixed startup problems (requires additional reboot after upgrade);
6.40: rb1100ahx4 - fixed startup problems (requires additional reboot after upgrade);
Is there also a fix required for the RB750?
