Hey
Quite unfortunate
Have you tried netinstall?
it keeps rebooting every 6 seconds , don’t think netinstall would work if the ports are reset every 6s.
I guess there is hardware failure. but need to be sure.
Try don’t assume…
Had this before on a 951G when I did an update wrong, late, on a Friday afternoon ![]()
Netinstall saved me ![]()
ok , tried Netinstall , guess what , nothing … any other suggestions ?
it worked last night fine ,
this morning it’s stuck on powering up loop,
there was no update or anything.
hw fault ?
How did you check the power supply?
multi meter and I have a few spare ones as I have few more mikrotik devices.
Under load?
I have checked just voltage with multimeter to see if the PSU is not dead , then I used other PSU from different Routerboard with same result.
update : I was playing with the Netinstall and … it’s working now
just need to find what was happened.
thanks for the suggestion
just wanted to repost this since you already have solved the problem. ![]()
few notes which can be helpful for someone with same issue …
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Reset_button
Starting the RouterBOARD in Netinstall mode
Or Keep holding the button for 5 more seconds until until LED turns off, then release it to make the RouterBOARD look for Netinstall servers. You can also simply keep the button pressed until the device shows up in the Netinstall program on Windows (total 15 seconds)
then
Thanks for the update and links, netinstall is not as easy the first time around and glad you found your way!
My issue was trying to connect to hard to get CapACs for netinstall and not knowing what the heck I was doing the first time.
Hi, today I upgraded routeros from 6.45.5 to 6.45.7 and router entered in a boot loop.
I tried netinstalling back to 6.45.5, 6.40.8, 6.42.12, 6.43.16, 6.44.3 and every time it flashes correctly but goes back to bootloop.
Tried also other working power supplies with no luck
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide
Edit: tried latest 6 beta and even 7 with same results. Flashed ok with netinstal but afterwards boot loop. I´m beggining to think the initial upgrade bricked it somehow, and netinstall doesn´t really do a 100% clean install.
Hi @MasteRTriX
Did you find any solution? I have an RB750UPr2 that Netinstall says it worked and reboot the router, but after rebooting it, it gets again in the rebooting loop, within netinstall it can stay on for hours, so no problem there.
I have tried with 6.45.6 6.45.8 and 6.4 (i think that was their firmware before getting in to this)
Best regards.
