I am looking to confirm as I am a totally new to playing with these little router boards but can this little hEXlite router run the DUDE? If not what is the lowest model that will as far as $$$?

Hello, ShowMeGuy!

It seems that accordingly to the Wiki information, [url=https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:The_Dude_v6/Installation#System_requirements_for_server_package:17g1ckod]System_requirements_for_server_package[/url:17g1ckod]:
[quote:17g1ckod]Hardware:
Tile - CCR series hardware
ARM - RB3011, RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition (RB1100Dx4)
mmips - hEX (RB750Gr3)
RouterOS x86 installations
RouterOS CHR environment[/quote:17g1ckod]
mmips - hEX (RB750Gr3) is compatible, but not hEXlite (RB750r2).

Thank you!

Another option would be the CHR. Old Windows machine. Virtual box and a CHR image.
