RB751 external antenna

Will MikroTik sell external antennas for RB751, or is that something I have to buy somewhere else? Can I use this Cisco AIR-ANT3351? What I need to know is how many MMCX connector RB751 has.

Never mind, I purchased one and find out by myself.

the normal MMCX pigtail can’t fit in the RB751 :frowning:

what kind of antena can stay there? or is only a joke

Only antenna with straight MMCX fill fit easily out of the box: http://www.google.lv/search?gcx=c&ix=c2&q=straight+mmcx&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1296&bih=1071

Sorry for a little bit stupid question, but - do I need MMCX male (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/SMA-male-plug-MMCX-male-plug-straight-adapter-/270680271717) or MMCX female (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/SMA-male-plug-MMCX-female-jack-straight-adapter-/280604128566) adapter? It is so small that I’m not sure, but it seems that RB751 has female and I need male, right?

It seems that neither of them will help me - I need “female RP-SMA to MMCX” to connect chosen antenna (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-4ghz-11dbi-sma-omnidirectional-wifi-antenna-47783), which I cannot find :frowning: There are only cables (pigtails), not adapters and I’d like to connect antenna without any cable. Perhaps I have to find an antenna with SMA (not reversed RP-SMA) connector

Well, not on eBay, but they do exist at least somewhere

This is the reason, why i didn’t replace my tp-link 1043 with rb751.
I bought 751, tested and sold it away.
Although it is the same chipset, but tp-link is less professional but more usable.

The same for me, I keep my Tplink for now. MMCX antenna is the most useless thing.

Are Mikrotik going to stock this so we can buy it with our RB751’s ?

RB751G and RB751U now have extended MMCX connector, so no special antenna is needed.

What about those of us with an older model 751u, is there a solution for us to have an antenna?

That is good news but it would still be nice if Mikrotik carried an aerial we could buy.

I have fitted AC/SWIM to an RB751 but it is a bit ugly

…and I thought that an antenna with mmcx connector should be considered “special”…
Most of antennas are rp-sma..
Well, I guess, rb751 internal antennas are enough if it wasn’t for rather odd config possibilities in wireless config (antenna a, b rx-a/tx-b) - what is that?
At the MUM Poland I saw a Chinese company, selling nice metal case for rb751 with rp-sma antenna - now thet was cute!
Anyway - after extensive testing it seems to me that internal antennas are enough for a small to medium size house and by placing you router smartly, you can get a good signal and some 20 mbits just about anywhere in the house. Do not consider wireless as a cable replacement, though.

I saw that as well, but seeing as you cant disable chain 0 on the internal, i wasnt sure if the metal case would really screw up performance. Minimum order is 40pcs so waiting for a trial case to turn up. Will report how it goes.

Hello.
I need mmcx antena for rb751G-2HnD
Is there any antena as MikroTik original accessories?

I do NOT want to connect pigtail MMCX - RSMA and then the antenna. It is unsightly and impractical.
There is no external MMCX antenna? Thanks

Do you remember the name of the company or something? I’m looking for a black (doesn’t have to be metal, can be plastic) case for RB751…

What is the range of Wireless for RB751G-2HnD and RB951G-2HnD ?

Is it sufficient for a 800 sq feet apartment ?

Yes, is more than sufficient. Depending on thickness and material of walls, even much bigger house can be covered.

Ohh thanks alot. Actually I was really confused which one should I buy. One had 2X2 MIMO and another had good amount of RAM and CPU.

Which one do you suggest?
