RB751G-2HnD corrupt gzip .. cannot get netinstall

Hi,

Suddenly my RB751G-2HnD stopped working. Connecting via winbox shows corrupt gzip and IP = 0.0.0.0 .. I put power ON, immediately press and hold reset till ACT led blinks … then stops ( after around 15seconds) and the leave it .. but I do not see it registered in the NetInstall window. I tried reset , but nothing .. cannot connect to it ..

How do I fix this issue ?

Thanks for reporting, but what Winbox version are you using ?

First you can try to delete the files in the “AppData” Winbox folder in your PC

Use latest winbox:
http://www.mikrotik.com/download

And reinstall the device, if still no this repeats, please let me know.


!Remember that if you will delete these files, then sessions and saved addresses also will be deleted. If you need to save them, then export address list to the file and save it into safe place. Also copy out sessions which you will need to use. After you have deleted files and reconnected to router import address list back and put needed sessions back into their folder.

I have same problem with only one Mikrotik

I use Winbox 3.0beta12 and 3.0rc5

It is 5.11 RB411U mipsbe

It looks it has 3.4% bad blocks.

CPU: MIPS 24Kc V7.4


I tried from 2 x Linux (Wine) PC’s, 1 x Windows XP and 1 x Windows 7 Pro, with same results.

I am attempting to setup connection with MAC telnet (unit is 20km away) and will try to upgrade it from distance.

Ok, I flashed it to 6.6 and now I can connect with Winbox without problems.

I used a ftp upload of the npk file to the unit and then rebooted the unit and that was it.
