My distrib emailed me today saying there is now a unknown delay for the RB751G-2HnD FCC approval.
Any insight at all on a ETA ?

I am also interested.
If an official update is available I would like to know what it is.
I wonder if the problem is ERP and maybe the software needs to be locked down to legal US requirements. “high power 30dBi/1W 802.11b/g/n wireless AP with antennas built in.”
They are calling this a SOHO device, not a device used by professionals.
Its gotta have the region locked down and the power output locked down to meet ERP maximums if its being sold for SOHO use I think.
Then again, maybe its just the S L O W FCC process..
Maybe ship it without the wifi card and buy the wifi card separate and the 2 together total $79.95.. No FCC approval needed.
The next question then is where do I buy it out of the US ? Like Canada or Mexico ?
What is confusing to me is that from what I can tell, the 751G’s RF chain is identical to the 751U in every way, so there should be no reason for the FCC to hold it up. The 751U passed, so the 751G should, too.
In fact, why couldn’t the G re-use the same FCC-ID for certification as the U? (I’m not an expert on US/FCC law, so maybe this is a dumb question.
)
The other thing that confuses me is that the 751G was finished and shipping in Europe before the new 951 was even ready or announced, but the 951 has already been certified by the FCC, even though I assume it was submitted to the FCC after the 751G was…
