RB751G low throughput

Hi

I have a Mikrotik RB751G.
As you know this may has gig ports and I have read that it should be able to have over 600Mbit throughput WAN to LAN.

I have a 500/500Mbit internet connection but I’m only getting about 150/150 through the router. When I bypass the router I get full speed.

I use the default NAT configuration, some rules for port forwarding and a static IP provided from my ISP. WAN on ether1-gateway and LAN on ether2-master-local.

I’ve tried different TP-cables. Cat5e, cat6, shielded, unshielded, you name it.

Is this router unable to perform better? In that case I’ll have to look for another

Check this link man

RB751G will not ever get 500Mbps with NAT and forwarding.

hmm too bad.

Guess I have to look for something more powerful

You can see below the product description, that with 25 firewall rules, you can get nearly 170Mbit: http://routerboard.com/RB751G-2HnD
This one will get nearly 260Mbit: http://routerboard.com/RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN

I suggest this model for 500Mbit: http://routerboard.com/RB1200
