RB751u Hotspot

I have setup a the RB751u as a hotspot with authentication, I have run into a snag however.

setup is:
Wifi and eth1 in a brigde. (192.168.0.1/24)
the hotspot is setup on the bridge so as to allow additional AP to be connected.

Internet is provided via an ADSL router (Dlink in adjacent office) (200.200.201.1/24)
The RB751 will connect to the ADSL via eth0 and share the connection to users.

If I add eth0 into the bridge the connection works, users authenticate via radius and get connected. However from the LAN side the admin cannot login to userman then. If I remove the eth0 port from the Bridge userman is accessible. (it needs to be to setup additional users)
With the eth0 in the bridge I am also concerned that there may be a security risk as network is only separated by a different subnet if im not mistaken, and it appears now that my android device gets on the internet even without authentication.

I believe my answer is that the connection should be routed I’ve tried setting this up with no luck.

Another strange thing I if I setup the hotspot dns name as hotspot windows machine did not seem to see it, so I set it as hotspot.local and that worked. but upon changing it iOS or android would no longer redirect to the login page.

Can someone point me to a comprehensive tutorial or walk through to help me set this correctly.

What error message u got when trying to access userman? 404 not found?

Nope was simply not finding anything.

I think I may have inadvertently fixed it.
I suspect it was the IP for the Lan side that I set to DHCP client and it looks like it passed the DNS through to the hotspot side. Also I changed DNS form 127.0.0.1 to the fixe IP on the hotspot side and it seems to have sorted iOS out aswell.

I am taking it to the client now to install and test. if all goes well I’ll post and if not, well I’ll post.

It’s a strange feeling when you go to install equipment and you think to yourself, if all goes well I’ll be done in 10 minutes.
You know it never does so you budget 1 hour for it.

Yesterday it took 10 minutes to install at the client. (I’m excluding the time it took to find the ladder.)
DHCP client meant it simply logged in and started doing its job.

Very happy.
