Please recommand 3x3 minipci card most suitable to RB800.
This one is quite good:

I’m sorry to hijack this topic.. Is there good reason to get a AR9390 card instead of a AR9380 card?
I found this little comparison:

The AR9390 is 3x more expensive.. Does anyone have experience with both cards?
I wish to know Mini pci module not mini pciE.
There are no 3x3 minipci cards available, only minipci-express.
3X3 minipci card is not available?
Can I ask why not available?
Router OS is not compatible with 3X3 minipci card? or RB800 is not compatible with RB800?

I was recommanded 3X3 minipci card from Nomis.
No, in that topic I have not recommended a specific model. I just sait that RB800 is good for 3x3. RB800 has miniPCI-e slot for such card.
Deleted because not related.
There is a small mistake
SR71 is not real 3x3 card. It’s 2x2 card with the possibility of connecting three antennas
My 5 cent;
The WLE300NX is very low power - probably more suited for laptops than outdoor applications. I’m also a strong believer of single-band cards. If they are both 2.4 and 5 GHz - like the 300NX, they suffer from poorer performance (TX power and RX sensitivity) than a single band. I got this from the manufactures themselves. The upcoming WLE350 family from Compex looks promising though - quite nice specifications.
I’m also a strong believer of the concept with only one RF-card for each unit - not multiple cards on same board inside same enclosure, hence I find the RB800 a little “over the top”. Big and expensive board with significant power requirements - and with fan cooling it is also less suited for embedding. http://www.mimotec.net/ - These guys are working on a interesting Mikrotik solution for 3x3. I’ll get my gigalink sample in week or so - for testing. I’ll report back if you are interested…

Does RouterOS support AR9580/AR9590 chipset???
The 9390 is suppose to be from cherry picked chips, higher heat tolerance.
It is the industrial/commercial grade chip.
I also have same question.
I have found this:
http://www.compex.com.sg/Datasheets/WLE350N5-25_DSv1.0.5.pdf
I think that it’s like 9380/90 chip, but only for 5Ghz, so it should work.
Don’t know if AR9580/90 will work on Mtik yet, but AR9380/90 does. The Mimotec Gigalink I’m waiting for is equipped with WLE300N5-22 – so single band 5GHz AR5380/90. Like I said, these new cards support interesting things - like Transmit Beamforming (TxBF) and Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) – and the WLE350 family have really nice TX power levels for being mPCI-E cards.

This Gigalink looks nice. Do you have any test results?
We are on a pre-launch program with them, but still waiting for the units – will get them next week I hope. Will test for a week , and then move it into production if ok - our SOP (standard operation procedure). I’ll post results for our standard 10 km test-link.

Hi Tbird,
Any result?
Testing postponed until next week
They hope to have units ready by end of this week - so hope to test next week. Got message that the RF is AR9580/90 though - so it must be supported then.
Also, the first models will not have 48V af support - only 24V passive. That sucks as I really prefer to use my gigabit POE switches…
/Tb
you have option to use your poe switch and product that use 24V
