I have a RB800 on one of my sites. For some or other reason it just stops working and go offline. After a power down and power up reboot, all is ok again. I have checked everything possible, from power to the unit to the latest firmware. What else could I possibly check? The routerboard worked fine for about three months, (since installed). Just started about a week ago, and nothing has changed.
Thank you for the reply. I have installed this board about 4 months ago, so basically its still brand new. You still think it might be the problem? Voltage up there is about 24Volts.
Yes, I would always check. We have bought over 1000 pieces of RB’s. We had to change capacitors on atleast 80 RB’s, but they were mainly 441, 443, 450,…
What does the log say? Did you check the AC/DC adapter?
The power source is two 12V batteries in series, giving me 24V and being charged via a charger. DC power is stable and looks just fine.
The logs does not provide any useful info regarding this.
Which caps should I be on the lookout for in particular?
Thank you for the reply on this, much appreciated.
Maybe the watchdog is rebooting your board for some reason, this should be seen in logs (if you don’t only use memory for logging - I don’t recommend it). If the power supply is table, and charger is producing the correct current, this shouldnt be a problem. Is this a solar charged station?
