Anyone succeded to make the fast RB800 fanless?
I would lke to use the RB800 but am very not happy to use fans. Even though they can use 4 fans 2 in action at the same time.
And what happens when i mount a RB800 inside a small box? Will the fan have any effect?
Any setup with a box is interested. Must be mounted outside. eg on the fack of a JRC-29 Duplex antenna.
I’ve removed the fan and cooler, fabricated a new cooler that fits within the slim case and put a 18db fan on the outside of the case. CPU temp is around 44c and airtemp is around 27c. OC to 1000mhz. So I really think there is no problem to go fanless if you put a bigger cooler than I did. My limitation was the case.

I then made a spring loaded holder to push it towards the cpu. On the box I put a fractal design 50mm 19db that pulls air out of the box from a round hole I made. The unit is rackmounted in my closet so pics are a bit out of the way, sorry. Next time I take it out I can do it 
The unit is really quite compared to original… !
If the box was higher, then I’d go for fanless instead and more fin area.
