RB800 with eth1 broken REINSTALL Router OS

Hi,
i have bought an used RB800.
Just turned on i have noticed that eth1 seems to not work… eth2 and eth3 are good.
I attributed the problem to a software configuration so I decided to reinstall the software

I have erased nand for reinstalling via net boot but eth1 it’s defective so now i’m not be able to reinstall router OS.
Is it possible to install into a compact flash or execute an net install on others ports thant eth1 ?

Now i have an RB800 without RouterOS installed… :frowning:
Is it possible a serial flash of routerOS ? If yes, how?

am i alone in this “case study”?

network boot only works on ether1 for RB800

The only way is - repair eth1 chip on rb800

Support have repair manual for you

Totaly absurd… it’s no way to bypass the problem of upload new Router OS through another ethernet ?

if you require netinstall (netboot) you are out of luck, if you still have working RouterOS there you can upload packages via other interface and reboot router to update it.

ok… i have understood… this board it’s gone…

I admit I was wrong to erase the NAND flash but I find unimaginable allow the update via net boot only from the eth1 port. That of course is also the one that burns more easily than the other as it has the PoE.
I do not think it is a technical limitation but a software limit wanted.

The card is out of warranty and with shipment, the repair work, and return (I live in Italy) will not be enough 150/180 €. While just over 200 euro I buy a new one … so it’s not a great deal to get it fixed…

At this point, I wonder, what is the purpose boot from compact flash??

you can contact your distributor for details about exact prices, since for repair you have to contact your distributor anyway.

And what about boot from compact flasc function? what is the real purpose?

I want to know about this too there is an option
boot from CompactFlash only
whats this for???
