RB800 with r52hn 1way voip

Hi,

We’ve recently deployed a number of RB800’s with R52HN radio cards and have run into a problem with some devices not being able to do SIP registration and the ones that do register get one way voice. We have setup a test lab mirroring what is in the live network, connected a device to the r52hn and then have sip phones hanging off the back.

We have found if we remove the r52hn cards ant put old cards in (Wireless (Atheros AR5413)) the setup works just fine. We’ve tried altering every possible setting but cant get the linksys spa2102 to register to port 5060 and we cant get the linksys 922 phones to do 2 way voice, strangely enough a softphone on a laptop works just fine.

Any ideas why r52hn card is behaving so badly?

Hi,

Which ROS version are you using? We had a system running 3.30 (all devices) and had to upgrade one of the backbone routers to 4.11 to get it to work properly.

Out of curiosity did you try sniffing the packets? Commview is a really good tool to diagnose sip issues, would be interesting to hear your findings.

Hey guys,

I thought I’d post an update as we have just finally discovered the error.
It seems when the combination of the r52hn in a rb800 with a ubiquity nano station as client and configured with either WPA or WPA2 voip doesnt work properly, we have since gone back to wep2 and all is functioning correctly.

thanks
