I’m sure I have asked this before, but a search on the board turned up nothing.
Can someone tell me for certain (i.e., first-hand experience) whether the RB816 daughter board is compatible with the RB532?
(I know the RB816 is only advertised as compatible with RB600 and RB800; but since it was released after the RB532 was at end-of-life, I don’t see that omission as conclusive.)
please try to get a RB564 from elsewhere, perhaps from eBay and you could short have a look
on both boards and the pin direction and if they are on the same points you give the RB816 a try,
but I would more looking for a RB800 to couple it with the RB816, only my opinion but it makes more
sense to have so many LAN Ports to combined with a stronger CPU.
Thanks Kreacher. Unfortunately, RB564s are long gone; I haven’t seen one for sale in years. I’m sure the pinouts are the same, because other daughter boards (RB502 & RB604) will work with the RB532 as well as the RB600/RB800. I’m trying to find out if anyone has actually used an RB816 on an RB532 in practice, and seen it work (or not).
Agreed on wanting more CPU behind so many Ethernet ports; I just need to know if the combination has ever been tested.
