I am seeing throughput issues on the rb850g using a default config (right out of the box). In all of my tests, the rb450g outperforms the rb850g as far as throughput. I am seeing about a 30% drop in throughput vs the rb450g. I have tried multiple rb850g’s with various versions of OS, I have tried this at different locations and on different modems as well. I am currently testing with 6.23. The network setup for testing is simple:
Eth1 = WAN - 1 Gig ISP Connection, bridged router to pass me the public IP.
Eth2 = Laptop with a Cat-6 cable
Again, these are brand new, un-altered rb850g’s and rb450g’s I am testing with. I can get between 380mb and 420mb using the rb450g and much less than that (300mb to 320mb) with the rb850g. I have tried setting flow control off/on and various speed and duplex settings. Since these are default config’s, I am at a loss as to why this is happening. I can’t be the only one who has seen this, any help is appreciated.
