RB941-2ND/TC Still Produce/Support?

Hallo Mikrotik Users

I’m searching on internet that RouterOS v7 minimal recommend requirements is 64Mb Ram. While the RouterOS v6 has no development support anymore, only security fix.
This devices RB941-2ND/TC only have 32MB, why this product still produce? Will this device stable if I force to upgrade to ROs v7 ? Since I didn’t have budget to get new hardware. I just want taste wire guard on mikrotik device.
I didn’t except Container, because I know this feature use heavy processing.

But if mikrotik has similar product, with minimum all port gigabit Ethernet, dual core arm64 processor, 1024MB Ram and 512MB Internal Storage, USB 3.0, type c power port, and price still under $50, I think I will save money and consider to buy new mikrotik hardware.

Thanks

… and also be able to make coffee (black, strong half teaspoon of sugar for me, thanks), hopefully with voice commands and AI :open_mouth: .

Comeon  for 50-60 Euros it is already a miracle that you can get an Ax Lite, with 256/128, which runs RoS 7 just fine.

Maybe it’s something too much, but in my country $50 equal to $100, huh . and in my case I didn’t need wifi, since I’m using Access point to spread the connection  in my opinion mikrotik could make the devices two version, wifi included or not, if not it will cheaper

Here is the price in my country, with small additional money I can get raspberry pi with 4x faster than I want, but yeah only one Ethernet port

Surely there are a few “holes” in Mikrotik product range, the hex is now to be considered “obsolete” an the “new hex” is near to be ready for production/sale:

the plan seems to be selling it for the same price of the current hex (same 50-60 price range).

If you can wait, probably it will be your best option, with 512/128 ram/storage.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will consider this product if the price in my country still affordable for me. Since the USB is not USB 3.0
But I think mikrotik should consider my spek recommendation above, it will be best home lab powerfull lower price router device

Yep, but would it be better an egg today tomorrow or a hen tomorrow some unknown time in the future?

Yeah surely I will take an egg for now, but since I will try the free way “force upgrade my rb941 to v7 os”, while I saving money in the feature that maybe mikrotik will make that hen :joy:

Like history tell about technology, yesterday feature phone is very expensive and slow, today’s smartphone is cheap and more fast

It is very stable with RouterOS v7 but I only use it as a simple AP to provide a guest network, not sure if there’s enough RAM to play around with VPNs under v7.
