One appears to have been a Netgear router. Tried a new RB911, new POE’s, still only got 10Mbps Half Duplex. Plugged into a new RB951 router, and got 100mbps FDX.
The other instance appears to have been a bad RB911… Tried new router, new poe, everything was only showing 10Mbps FDX. Put in a new RB911 and got 100Mbps FDX.
Still don’t know what caused the MDIX to fail, but a new RB911 fixed the problem.
Why can’t I use the built in POE port on the RB951?
Also I have another location where I’m doing fiber to the antenna due to cable distances. I have a remote reboot-able POE controller (http://tinyurl.com/d4523hv) and will be using R9xx Outdoor series.
The device is only rated for 100Mbps. Without it, the only way to manually reboot the devices would be to power down the entire tower, which, is unacceptable to me.
Your solution may solve a simple client side problem, but raises some major concerns for me if we MUST use these POE’s for auto negotiate to work properly with RB9xx boards…
