Hello and thanks for reading. I have a RB951G-2HnD that I’d like to use as a switch and AP only. So far I’ve been able to get it to act as a switch on my home network, but the PC’s connected to it can’t access the internet (only internal network locations). On the other hand I’ve got it to work as a wireless AP and the devices connected to it can access the internet, but not my home network. I can’t get it to do both.
I’m using the most up-to-date firmware, but the OS is entirely new to me. I basically want it to act as simple switch to extend my wired and wireless network. Another device acts as my router. I’m immensely grateful for any assistance.
That’s exactly what I’m doing with my RB951G-2HnD at home. All I have done with mine to work in this manner is set the LAN IP address and disable DHCP. If I wanted one more ethernet port I suppose I could reconfigure ether1 as well.
