Hello folks,
we use quite a few RB951G-2HnDs in a customer trial projects. A problem occurred with some of them:
We configured and tested the devices (RouterOS 5.25) in Germany. Some days after the installation at the customer’s some of the routers did not boot anymore. Others did not boot at all when trying to install the systems.
After connecting them to power, only one “Beep” was audible, but not the second double beep which indicates the readyness of the router. It could not be accessed using Winbox. All in all 5 out of 8 routers had this kind of defect.
The only remedy was a complete re-installation of the file system using Netinstall.
Some individual cases of this problem occured also in our lab in Germany. We tried to re-enact the problem (e.g. by using a time switch which set the router off and on again in a 15 minute interval) but we were not able to replicate the problem.
I noticed that similar problems were reported in this forum

Unfortunately there is no final solution - some people suggested to netinstall, others detected a faulty DC supply, others reported problems with the NAND, but nobody stated that the problem was definitely solved.
There is no definite statement by MT.
This is a very unsatisfying situation; our customer is complaining (rightly) about the big amount of failures.
80 more systems are about to be delivered and we cannot be sure if we made the right choice by using MikroTIK hardware.
How could we make sure that these 80 systems do not come up with the same problem?
