RB951G-2HnD PPoE problems

Hello .

Does this board support 1000Mbps speed on PPoE with MTU 1492 ?
My connection : FTTH 1000 Mbps D / 100 Mbps U

My tests with :

RouterOS 5.26 —> MAX 210 Mbps download on PPoE
RouterOS 6.19---->MAX 320 Mbps download on PPoE
(When speedtesting , the RB’s CPU and IRQ are 100%)

Direct PPoE connection via PC ----> 850 Mbps download (aprox )

Is there any way of getting better speed on this board ? Or is this 600Mhz cpu too slow ?

Does anyone have any suggestions ? Besides the obvious “getting another router” part …

This is the limit of 600MHz AR9344 CPU, you can overclock it to 750MHz to get extra 25% power. For gigabit routing better use PowerPC based RB1100AHx2 or Tilera based CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+. Or you can wait for cheaper RB850Gx2 which is also Dual Core PowerPC.
