Dear all,
I’m new with RouterOS and Mikrotik. From few days I’m using the RB951G-2HnD model. I set the wifi and it working well but the max speed rate is 100Mbps… what are the correct parameters for 300Mbps? Currently it’s set as AP with 802.11bgn enabled 2Ghz , ch0 and ch1 checked. thanks so much.
300 is radio datarate, in TCP that would equal about half, 100-150Mbps TCP.
You need clients to be dual-chain / dual stream (2x2 MIMO) while most mobile devices are single chain.
my laptop works with a max speed of 100Mbps… with the previous router the bandwidth was better, more than 100Mbps…
Your previous router was probably 802.11ac, you should get a hAP AC if you want a comparable product from Mikrotik. The RB951G-2HnD is rather old, 2.4 GHz 802.11n will not go very far speed-wise.
As other users say 300mbps is max datarate. TCP/IP traffic will be half of that 150mbps or less in real situation. For speed under 100mbps get some AC enabled device. Your card need to suppprt AC too.
With 11n, You need to set the channel bandwidth at 40MHz to achieve 300Mbps with a 2x2 AP, as per standard.
Good luck with that in an urban setting. 802.11n WILL revert to 20MHz in case of conflict with another AP.

40mgz is quite unstable in urban places.
Or just plugin a network cable ![]()
