RB951Ui-2HnD POE and PPPOE at PORT #1

can i give power to rb951ui-2hnd from port 1 and also PPPOE at port #1 bridged to my modem ?
i want to hang it on a wall and use it as a router and ap with one lan cable for power and pppoe.
i tried it and it does not make the pppoe connection.

maybe with 24 volt poe input but take attention poe out its max 500ma

i have tested a second 951ui via poe out and works ok but a bigger device is not powered

this does not answer my question.
i asked if its possible on PORT #1 to give power to rb951 and pppoe from modem. i dont care about poe output on port #5

Why not… are you using the provided POE cable?

Plug the POE cable inbuilt RJ45 plug into the modem to dial pppoe to, then the cable plugged into the female POE cable socket to RB951Ui’s ether1, that’s it.

there is no “provided POE cable” in the official box of rb951ui

You’re right, that’s only for SXT’s, sorry

In summary, yes you can. From POE adapter, POE port cable to 951Ui-2HnD ether1, LAN port cable to the modem/router to dial PPPoE through.

i dont have a sxt poe cable.
i try with a ubnt poe. rb951 turns on but not pppoe connection

enable debug on the RB on PPPOE (System > logging, add a new rule for PPPOE like the already existent) and look at the logs…

Does the modem ethernet port display link? How have you configured the RB951?

i try to do it for second time and it works from the start. dont know what was wrong on first try.
result… one lan cable for power and pppoe on port #1. nice!

congratulations!
