RB953GS-5HnT-RP fiber-ring

Hello,

I have to design a new project to setup DECT IP-SIP stations along a roadway. We need to put around 40-50 units and I was thinking about putting a box with it power supply, a RB953GS-5HnT-RP with SFP converters and a fiber ring. Traffic is minimal as it’s only voip with a few concurrent calls. Could the 40-50 units of the RB953GS-5HnT-RP handle it or after n number of units it would fail or collapse?

On both ends i will setup a bigger routerboard to serve DHCP/routing etc. and a must is if there is a cut at the fiber is to backup connection to the other end of the fiber.

Any tips are welcome!

Many thanks

I cannot see why not; however I will do some thorough testing with the same SFP modules you intend to use.

The 953 is a rather powerful board.
