Hello everyone, i would like to know if PowerBoxPro RB960PGS-PB, has automatic power conversion from at to af for the output port.
Example if the powerbox is powered with an PoEat+(48v), and on the eth2 is connected the 802.3af device, the conversion happen? or is applied the same input voltage? the port output power can be selected manually?
From the product description page:
It also supports passive PoE input and passive or 802.3af/at PoE output. Ethernet ports 2-5 can power other PoE capable devices > with the same voltage as applied to the unit> . Less power adapters and cables to worry about! > It can power 802.3at and af mode B compatible devices, if 48-57 input voltage is used.
(emphasis is mine)
Hello mkx, I read the product description well, but I would like an official answer from the mikrotik support
From the product description it would seem a simple passtrought of the power supply, therefore the conversion does not take place and it is not possible to connect devices to 803.3af if the input is in 802.3at.
I would like to confirm my assumption thanks!

Actually, 802.3at and 802.3af have similar voltage ranges, so I see no problems here. Your assumptions that there is no conversion are correct. Voltage range, however, is not the only difference between various PoE standards.
