RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT HAP AC poe out cannot be disabled and provides 9 V

HI,

after I fried the second usb ethernet adapter I noticed that I was connected to port 5 of the router which is the poe out port. So I measured the pins on the plug and noticed that I can measure 9V between pin 4/5 and 7/8 which are the poe pins.

So I went into the settings and set poe-out to forced-off and rebootet the router

https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:PoE-Out#Port_Settings

tells me that there should be no sensing and all voltages should be turned off as well, which in fact is not the case I still can measure the 9V, even they change to 11V.
I have two of the above mentioned routers, both are showing this. I supply both via the regular power supply, no poe involved.

How can I turn this off? This seems not standard compliant to me. Any ideas?

It’s not a problem. You are just seeing the open circuit potential. No current is flowing. If you put a load on the POE out the potential will drop to 0v or close to it. The POE out will not power a load when set to forced off.
