RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT - Ubiquiti Unifi UAP-AC-IW

Hi,

I have a hAP ac (RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT). Hi, I recently bough an access point (Unifi UAP_AC-IW AC) but once I connected it to the port 5 on the Mikrotik i saw no light (led) or activity on the unifi.

I use two cable, both of them test with a cable test and all pins are OK.

On the Mikrotik console I set the PoE Out to “Auto On” and also on “Forced On”, but still nothing on the Unifi.

On the Mikrotik log I’m seeing there line
ether5 detected poe-out status: wait_for_load
ether5 detected poe-out status: on
ether5 detected poe-out status: wait_for_load
ether5 detected poe-out status: on
ether5 detected poe-out status: wait_for_load
ether5 detected poe-out status: on
I’m starting to wonder if this would not be a PoE incompatibility problem between the hAP ac and the unifi ?

Is it supposed to work or do I need to by an additional PoE adapter ?

Best regards,
Martin

What are the “Ubiquiti Unifi UAP-AC-IW” PoE-in specification/requirements?

Note that hAP ac PoE-out provides only “Passive PoE”.

PoE in input Voltage: 11-57 V
PoE out: Passive PoE

No, it can’t work. Hap AC output is passive POE and the Ubiquiti access point need active 802.3at PoE+. You need to buy an additional POE adapter.

Hi,

At the office I have a Ubiquiti TOUGH Switch (https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-TOUGHSwitch-PoE-Managed-TS-5-POE/dp/B00HXT8QKC). I configure a port with 48v and it work perfectly. @LSan83 you seem to be right

@LSan83: I talk with ubiquity by chat yesterday but their service is pretty ordinary. Can you tell me if a PoE like those could do the job

Thank you so much
