Actually, the question is more related to the correctness of the selected equipment for the implementation of the following task:
There is an ISP with a static white IP and IPTV service that it provides with the IPTV set-top box. In the existing configuration, a router is used, one of the LAN ports of which is allocated in a separate VLAN for the IPTV set-top box to work.
To replace the standard router, the cAP model (RBcAP2nD) was chosen. The difficulty lies in the fact that this model has only one LAN port, and at the installation site of the router there is no access to electricity, plus there is no way to add additional ethernet wires to the site. To solve the problem, the RB260GS model was selected with the ability to be powered by PoE, which the RBcAP2nD router provides to it.
It is planned to connect the following equipment to the switch:
- IPTV set-top box in a separate VLAN;
- a certain amount of PCs and other things.
Will this kit work as required?
