Rbcapgi-5acd2nd Cap Ac

good morning, wanted to clear a doubt about a feature of the device Rbcapgi-5acd2nd Cap Ac. I want to know if I can connect a CAP1 through the poeout connected to the second CAP2 of the same model connected to the poein. In this way will it feed electrically and also data?

Yes.
..“the two Ethernet ports give you the ability to extend your network with cables, even if PoE power is required, since the cAP ac supports 802.3af/at PoE input on the first port, and passive PoE output on the second port.”

The thing is that with two cAP ac on a single branch and the bundled 24 V power supply, you’ll be over the specs - according to the specs, the cAP ac takes 13 W at max without attachments, which requires more than 0.5 A current from 24 V (leaving aside that the voltage at PoE-out port is lower than what comes to the input).

So with a 48 V power supply, or at least a 30 V one, you’ll be formally OK; with the stock one, it may work but you’ll not be formally compliant to the specs. So it will work most of the time but some glitches may occur if there is heavy traffic at the second cAP in the chain.

That’s maybe why the scheme from the documentation as linked by @anav shows “lighter” devices as the second ones behind the cAP acs in all branches.

Thank you so much guys. They helped me a lot.
