Hello, I recently purchased the RBcAPGi-5acD2nD with software version 6.49.18 (stable). When I upgrade it to 7.xx.xx, it opens normally and then almost immediately or within 2-3 minutes it bricks. I tried the latest version with netinstall, and it bricks again. I switched to 6.49.19 (long-term) and it is now running relatively stable.
The rest of my equipment is an RB4011iGs+ central router and 2x CRS326-24G-2S+ switches, for WiFi, I also have 2 RBcAPL-2nDs, 1 cAP XL ac, and 1 RBcAPGi-5acD2nD.
All of them run on software version 7.20.6 except for the RBcAPGi-5acD2nD.
Does anyone else have a problem with this particular RBcAPGi-5acD2nD model, or know how to fix this problem?
What firmware version is the cAP ac running?
And what wireless package does it use (either wireless or wifi-qcom-ac)?
What does brick mean?
What does the logging say?
- The firmware currently running is 6.49.19 (long-term).
- Wireless (CapsMan management from my central router RB4011iGs+).
- Brick = I lose access to the RBcAPGi-5acD2nD because it loses its firmware and I can only see it with Netinstall.
- log? How can I see the log since I lose it after the upgrade and can only see it again by reloading the firmware via Netinstall?

Why do you think it is loosing it's firmware?
Any LED's emitting light?
Does a power of and on help?
Please provide all information available.
Can you share the output of:
/system/routerboard/print
Well, I tried again today to update, and it worked fine!!!
I don't understand what was wrong, the only thing I noticed was that it took longer to restart.
I tried, not once, but 3-4 times, was that after the upgrade it restarted, when opened the LED indicators power and E1 (ethernet 1), I couldn't see it on my network, Winbox couldn't see it, I couldn't see the web interface, the wifi wasn't working either, I could only see it with Netinstall and it only accepted update version 6.49.19, any newer version I tried opened in the same state (power/E1).
Is that device simply hanging from ethernet cable ? ![]()
PS personally I prefer square case on that device.
