We recently purchased several RBFTC11 copper to fiber converters. These are connected to Mikrotik switches from a radio link. After installation and power up, the port on the switch recognizes the connection to the converter. However, when the power has been cycled to the converter, the port is no longer detected as being in service on the switch. Testing has shown that after the power has been cycled, the only way that the switch port can be activated again is by removing the SFP in the converter and reseating it.
This means that if we ever have a power failure at a converter location, the only way the connected switch can see the converter again is if we go out to the converter and reseat the SFP.
Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know a fix for this? If not, we will have to replace these converters and look for another solution as these are totally unusable in our network.
