RBGrooveGA-52HPacn - Dry Solder Join - How to open?

Hello,

I’ve got a RBGrooveGA-52HPacn which disconnects/resets when I wiggle the ethernet connector (the link disconnect numbers increase etc). I believe the issue to be a dry solder join on the internal network connector joints.

It is out of warranty so I was going to give fixing it a go, but I don’t know the type of tool required to open the ‘Ring nut’ on the top. I think it is some kind of hook wrench but I have no further clues on what I need to buy/do.

Does anyone have any experience on opening a ‘RBGrooveGA-52HPacn’ and what tools are required?

You mean the “ring nut” where the antenna connector is?

You can use normal pliers on the outside or bent circlip pliers like these (examples):

The tool used in a workshop for those is usually a “sector wrench” or a “compass wrench”, but we are talking of bigger and much more tightened nuts.
