RC10 Intel SATA and 82566DM-2 Gigabit ethernet

I bought an Intel DQ35JO motherboard. We want to run RouterOS on it as we need quad core to handle all the load of BGP and L7 shaping.

I was able to load RC10 on it via netinstall/PXE ok. At the end of the install I reboot and I get an error “Missing Operating System”.

I am running hardware RAID 1. Since this a mission critical system I need to ensure super high reliability. I am running 100% intel hardware for optiminal reliability and the most driver support. The motherbaord and RAID is listed as being supported by all MS and Linux based OS I have ever heard of.

I specifically ensured I had a system that had hardware RAID but RouterOS seems to be doing something wierd during install and bypassing the RAID.

Hmm, more frustration.

I tried booting from the v3.0RC10 ISO.

It loads ISOLINUX fine but then gives me an error that no CDROM is present. Odd since it is already using the cdrom when it gives the error.

hmm, not only is the RAID and CDROM not working in MT, but the onboard Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit ethernet is not supported either.

It shows up in Resources>PCI but not in Interafces.

Again, I am running the latest RouterOS.

It would be fine for me to try older hardware I guess??!? but where would I buy something that is discontinued and know I can trust it as my core router?

Also interesting that MT specifically lists support for “Intel” platforms but my 100% Intel platfom is barely supported.

can you get an lspci from linux and send to support ? if you can boot, take a supout and include that with your support request.

I dunno what a lspci is but I emailed them a supout
