I am testing RDS2216 and I noticed also on the second drive that I plugged to start my tests that was not formatted having plenty of files eg a windows installation, that it is automounting and it takes ages before fileman manages to read millions of files not allowing me to eject/format the drive.
There should be a way to either disable automount on new drives or fileman to behave differently not locking the whole drive just to read the files.
I know that there is a workaround to just plug it on another system format it and then plug it but what if I really want to plug this drive and start using it? I would have to wait possibly hours before I can actually use it causing huge lock on the RDS. Maybe fileman could read the folder contents once I would expand that folder?
Oh yes it worked, it was updated it to the latest by today beta but I still had the problem.
The problem was solved by using winbox4 but I must say that I don’t like using winbox4 at all.
I tried to push myself to keep it a few days to see if it is my desire to not change winbox3 but after lot’s of yoga and blood pressure medicines I ended up going back to winbox3.
When I use winbox4 I want to throw my mouse against the wall as if it is the mouse’s fault that I can’t navigate as fast and read the information as fast.
I think that I was hardware accelerated when I was using winbox3 and in winbox4 I have to use my brain’s cpu again (which is not as fast).
Yet the fileman issue was solved… now I can open winbox3 again to continue my tests
