re-enable ethernet port managment

hi guys, i know i’m new with mikrotik and i was happy to configured well my CRS504-4XQ-IN, but i’ve done a dumb thing, i’ve missclicked and i’ve disabled (fortunately only) the ethernet port for managment, with winbox i can’t find the router with mac address neighboard and i don’t know how can i do it without restart the router or at worst, reset it, so can be done without doing any of the two things? because is still working and thats the important things :laughing:

someone can help me?


if i put to the console port that is a rj a ethernet cable and i’ll plug to my notebook, with winbox or putty can i access to it?

No, the console port is serial RS232 with the commonly used Cisco pinout. You need a USB to RS232 interface and a DB-9 to RJ45 cable, see https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Serial+Console#SerialConsole-RJ45TypeSerialPort

If any SFP interface(s) are bridged to the internal CPU interface you should be able to access the Mikrotik via them if you have some way of connecting your notebook.

to the exit of the cable above and i put usb on the notebook and the ports are bridged should i see something with winbox?

No, you’ll see something if your run terminal client (such as putty) setting it to use USB serial port.

so i’ve to plug all of this into the usb of the notebook, then open putty, setting it to Serial and put right Serial Line and speed (there is any documentation for the setup of putty?) then i’ll see at least the login command?

Suggestion, buy something like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32724437451.html, its very convenient for having serial port connection without wire when you need to connect to device in some environment where you cannot easily approach close to device (without having USB extender) or just to move/place laptop without worry about cable connection.
