RE: EOIP Tunnel behind cisco router

Hello,

I have a routerboard 433 in our noc that I would like to create a EoIP tunnel to a RB433 out in the field. the RB in our NOC sits behind a cisco router; so I am wondering what if any ports need to be forwarded to the internal Ip of the RB (the RB433 out in production has an external public Ip assigned to it)

thanks,

EoIP is a layer on-top of GRE. As long as you allow pass-through of GRE (protocol 47) on the Cisco you’ll be fine.

You’ll have to check GRE NAT capabilities of your Cisco device though. If your Cisco device is having problems, try creating an L2TP/PPTP VPN btw both Mikrotiks, then layer EoIP on-top of the VPN tunnel.
