I want to get the mikrotik routerboard rb951 but want to make sure it does certain things first:
I can know the history usage per ip like => 192.168.1.15 used 90GB in the last month or day and I can get details about these 90GB like having youtube took 30GB from these 90GB
Use one of the ports as a switch to mirror the other ports to it
If it can mirror all ports to one port so I can mirror to a server and achieve point one. But for achieving point 2 I need to use the mikrotik routerboard.
When you’re talking about mirroring ports: you can set mirroring of multiple ports to one. However, if aggregate bit rate of mirrored ports exceed capacity of target port, frames will get dropped. In this case mirror will not be 100% and one could argue that mirroring “all to one” can not be done.
When I wrote answer to point 1., I considered solely Mikrotik device. Only immagination limits you when you can use “helper” devices …
