Rebooting problems using RB951-2n in wireless meshed network

Hi guys,
this i my first post on this forum so please give me some hints before grouse..

I have a problem with my network setup and I can’t figure out where I have done an error.

Please take a look at the network diagram I’ve uploaded too!

Now the problem:

  • we are using 4x RB951-2n as accesspoints connected as a meshed wireless network.
  • “AP_GATEWAY” is the main accesspoint acting as hotspot (connected to a radius server).
  • “AP1, AP2 and AP3” are just used as accesspoints (no hotspot or anything else active and running on these)
  • all 4 accesspoints are connected to each other by the same wireless radio module as also clients are using (since RB951-2n is a single radio 2.4GHz accesspoint) - We know this is not ideal, but for internet surfing / internal VOIP phoning this should be enough!
  • there are not more then 10 devices connected to this system (so no heavy load situation..)
  • all wireless interfaces are configured as “ap bridge” with “static mesh” and “20/40MHz HT above”; they have the same SSID; “default authenticate” and “default forward” is activated too.
  • on top of the meshed WDS we have configured a bridge, called “AP-Bridge” with RSTP running
  • the main accesspoint (“AP_GATEWAY”) has the priority “1” in RSTP settings, so the tree is build up from there; secondary accesspoints “AP1, AP2 and AP3” have RSTP activated with default entries.
  • it’s very important to share the same SSID for roaming purposes (mobile clients are moving back and forth while using VOIP connections)
  • all this setup is up and running, but there are strange problems as follows:
  • “AP_GATEWAY” makes a reset every day; not the same time at all, just sporadically, whenever it wants to..
  • “AP1, AP2 and AP3” are resetting every 1-2 days;

1. question: Why are the accesspoints resetting every day? This is a big(!!) problem, since sometimes this happens during working hours and all the clients are being kicked out of the network for a minute till the routerboard is restarted..
2. question: all the accesspoints have their IP address (192.168.1.x/24) on the “AP-Bridge” interface; but when I try to ping from one device to another the ping sometimes runs into timeout..

Please advice me what configuration data I should post you to help you understand better!

Thank you very much for any help!

Sorry for my bad English..

Sorry for top pinning this post..but is there no one who could give us an answer?

Thanks guys!
