I bought my first board being the RB850Gx2 and was experiencing random reboots all the time.
I just use the board in a very normal (home use) PPPoE, DHCP, and a few filter rules.
Anyways, I upgraded the board to 6.32.4 and after the crash / reboot it downgraded itself down to 6.30.4 and I am then no longer able to upload any upgrade files to the board anymore, any files I upload would just disappear. I would have to do a hard reset then I could upload the upgrade files again.
I thought that this was a problem with my board so I went and bought RB450 but I am still experiencing the same issues.
Has anyone experienced this issue? On the RB850Gx2 I had even hard reset and used quickset only and did nothing else – yet the reboots still happened every 1-4 hours.
What does the log say after these reboots? Have you tried using different power supply. I would also suggest you to reinstall the device using Netinstall procedure, to make sure there are no problems with the flash memory.
I am not able to see what is in the logs.
The whole things gets almost like a hard reset and the routerOS gets downgraded on its own as well.
I have just reset the system (450G) again, and upgraded it to the latest version (6.35.2). I also disabled all unused packages so now have only DHCP, PPP, and SYSTEM package enabled.
All the info, critical and etc logs are now set to store on the disk. I will the logs if it crashes again. But from the past, there was nothing in the log0 file about the crash / reboot.
Now is the first time it is on 6.35.2 with very few packages enable and has now been running for 4hours 30mins.
If this fails, I will try netinstall. But I have been trying a lot of things for the past 10 days.
For the power supply, is there a certain one that you would suggest? I am currently using the one that supplier provided me with. Output of the adapter: DC24.0V & 0.80A
Thank you for your time and your help is much appreciated.
