Hi
I have a Mikrotik router with load balancing configured. Well I wish I could have the MT router , becasue when I plug that one I do have some problems with emails and FTP also.
The problem is because I do have some clients in the outside which connect to my server using Public IP, a static one. As far as I use the router of my ISP it all goes fine, when I swich to the MT router it will not work.
I van see in the Conection table of IP-Firewall that connections arrive but somehow they time-out. Could this be related to the load balancing configuration?
I have two WAN static IP address, the email and FTP accounts are configured to conncet to one of those.
I think you should explain better your problem, give details about your setup and the IPs you’re using..
Maybe just the half of IPs (ex. 192.168.x.x)
That’s because I don’t think that this is a problem with detailed setup, which are fine, it’s mostly related to the fact that doing load balancing, certain services like email (send and recieve) or any other kind of connection where login and persistent connection is required would not work.
In my opinion, when the server response to the client, it goes through the other WAN interface, which the client then would reject, or vice-versa.
In fact today doing a more thorough search in the forum I found a topic which could be of help, and I will try as soon as I can. Here is the link of that topic:
