Recommend an esim modem for LTAP in 2026

Hi,

I have LTAP with R116E modem which does not have esim support, can anybody suggest a modem with esim support that will work with LTAP and RouterOS? For European coverage. 5g not necessary, 4G is fine.

Would be nice if it works with Mikrotik esim, but any esim company is fine.

Iā€™m using an LtAP mini with a T77W968-Esim modem.
It works great with the internal antennas, and all eSIM functions work correctly.

Could you point me to where you bought it? I see some dell part numbers and some on AliExpress, but I need to be sure of the form factor.

Which Esim provider do you use?

Should be Foxconn, and m.2:

You also need m.2 to mpci adapter.

And if you want to use internal lte antennas - two IPEX4(F) to IPX(M) short 5cm cables.

Everything was bought on aliexpress.

I read somewhere this modem does not support USB by default and it requires modifying by shorting a jumper and blanking a pin on the edge connector to enable USB. Is that your experience? or are you using it only in boards that speak with modem over real mini-pcie (ie ltap slot 1 only) vs USB lanes?

You need modifications to enable USB mode for t99w175.

Modem t77w968 do not need any hardware modifications.
