I am wanting to install a new backhaul link. I need to go 6.5k with as much throughput as I can get (20Mb is acceptable). I was wanting to use a RB532A on each end with a pair of SR5 cards. I want to use a PacificWireless 2 foot 29dbi solid dual polarity dish since tower space is limited. Will these configuration support what I want to do? Has anyone used the dual polarity dishes with Nstreme2 before? Are there any advantages/disadvantages to them?
It sounds pretty straighforward - assuming not too much interference from outside you should be able to reach 30-35mbps each way on your link. I have achieved up to 70mbps total throughput using 532R5’s - you dont need the A version by the way - the extra memory wont be needed.
The advantage of the dual polarized dish is the obvious space saving. The disadvantage is increased chance of crosstalk between channels (even with cross polarization). Just try to keep your channels at least 200Mhz apart.
