Recommended configuration for...

Hi there, I’m new to Mikrotik and starting to love it (if not yet). I need some advice to choose the best configuration for this WISP that has been running smooth, but it’s time for it to grow.

ether1 ether2

AP1 AP2

The red side of the drawing is the new AP.
AP1 is a routerboard in mode ap-bridge with one radio card. AP1 has been running for over a year with an omnidirectional antenna. Now I’ve changed it to a sector panel and added AP2 (RB) with two radios both with sector panels to make 360º (120º*3) coverage.

It currently has over 50 clients connected 24/7 to AP1.

I’d like to have just one SSID, and when the client access the network, it is automatically connected to the one for his sector. Is it possible?

Thank you for your advice!!

I’ve been waiting for an answer… and in the meantime, I’ve already configured my routerboards.

On AP2
I’ve put both radios on a bridge with ether2 (connection w/ server). Both with same SSID and different frequencies.

Any other advice? Thanks again…

Well, in the meantime, i’ve already configured my mikrotiks. Put both radios and the interface with the server, on a bridge. Each radio with the same SSID (and also the same as the SSID of the AP1’s radio), and different frequencies to avoid intereferences… It’s working smooth… and each client automatically connects to the equipment with the strongest signal for his location (auto roaming).

Any ideas to improve it?
