What kind of hardware should I give Mikrotik to do a 20MB full duplex EOIP bridge?
Thanks
Some of my recent quick-shot throughput-tests with a RIC/522 (i.e. a Routerboard 500) showed a full-duplex throughput of up to about 18.5 MBit/s (wireless, WDS).
Given that EoIP has a little more overhead than WDS I assume that anything with “a bit more” power than a RB500 should do the job. This will of course also depend on your planned config. So large number of queueing rules will definitely eat up some power, …
Depending on how hard your 20 MBit/s minimum is set, you might even get away with a pair of RB500…
