Regular dropped packet on network

I’ve got an Omnitik (AP bridge) connected to 3 x hAP AC lites (all station bridge) in a house. When pinging from the hAPs to the Omnitik I see a fairly regular dropped packed about every 2 minutes. It’s no exact and sometimes it can go 10 minutes not seeing it… but then comes back again. Just a single dropped packet, on what seems like an otherwise fine network. I was running nv2 and then nstreme but still the same issue. I’ve tried moving frequency around the 5Ghz band, but that doesn’t seem to have any effect either.

These 3 APs are used as a backbone to the connect back to back via ethernet with 3 hAP AP lites that are controlled via CAPsMAN (from the Omnitik) to serve wireless clients around the house. The effect of this one dropped packet on the backhaul seems to result in 3 dropped packets in a row from the wireless client pinging the default gateway. Which is quite a pain when on a Google hangout or voip call.

Each of the 3 hAP AP lites drops a packet at exactly the same time when I leave them all pinging the Omnitik at the same time.

Any idea where to look? I’ve tried switching debug logging on for wireless, but don’t see anything logged there when this happens. All APs are running either v6.38.4 or v6.38.5

The Omnitik is seeing a receive strength of between -67 and -75 for each of the stations connected to it. One of the stations is actually quite close and was running about -40 and so I turned the radio power down on it in case that was the cause… but doesn’t seem to have made any difference.

Have you checked System > Routerboard Current firmware version? is on par with Upgrade version? (on the omnitik)

Have you monitored cpu usage on the Omnitik? Watch it closely when the dropping takes place.

Have you tried bugfix channel 6.37.5? (on all devices)
