I want to reinstall my RB1100AH using Netinstall (without losing configuration). This all because I forget the password.
Tools that I prepared:
RB1100
UTP cable
Serial Cable (Female to Female)
USB to serial Male cable
Notebook (windows 7)
Netinstall 5.24 version
First, I use serial console to monitor routerBoard by connecting notebook via USB to male serial cable then connected to female serial cable to Routerboard. I use putty.exe for monitoring. It seems connected but the display appears blank. I tried to cut the power on routerboard and turn it on again but nothing happened. The display still appears blank.
The setting on putty:
Speed: 115200
Data bits: 8
Stop bits:1
Parity: none
flow control: XON/XOFF
I tried to use different cross serial cable, straight serial cable, female -female connector, but still useless. The display appeared blank.
Moreover, I tried to set flow control: None. It does not work.
Please somebody inform me how to solve this problem.
